Girly Girls!

Oooohhh...I love all the pastels!  I especially love them this time of the year when I'm fall colored out and about to overdose on red and green!  It's always nice to expand my color palette just a wee bit.  This sweet 10x10 princess verse for Cassi shipped out a little while back.

This one of my absolute favorite quotes for the baby nursery.  However, it would be really special for any child.  I think it would be perfect for adoptive parents as well.  This is a really pretty color combination of hot pink, lime, gray, and navy.

Here's the same quote with hearts instead of dots.  Wouldn't this be cute with stars and in blues and yellows, too?  This 11x14 also features a purple, lavender, and pink color combination.

Nothin' But Love

These 11x14 song lyric canvases have become very popular.  I can see why - aren't they just the sweetest things?

They are perfect hanging with a collage of wedding photos.  They are also great for the husband (or wife's!) office.  They can also be done in any color combination.

I can do other songs - the lyrics just can't be too long.  I also love painting special Bible verses.  This one has always been one of my personal favorites.  It turned out beautifully for this couple's anniversary.

Back To Reality...

We've been thoroughly enjoying our fall break!  It's so nice to have the week off with the kids.  We have gone to Perdido Key, Florida for the past few years and love it.  It's a really small town and there's nothing to do but go to the beach and relax.  Just what the doctor ordered!

I have a few paintings that I just haven't gotten around to sharing.  This one was shipped out a few weeks ago to one of my favorite customers!  I remember this song.  She asked for neutrals with a touch of crimson.  I think it turned out really pretty.

The masterpiece painting is the matching one to a sister piece that I did a long time ago.  I think it's sweet that little brother wanted one, too!

This zebra and hot pink print is a teacher canvas that went all the way to Texas!

This orange, white, and light blue canvas was ordered by a teacher friend for her niece's birthday.  She the ultimate Tennessee Vols fan!  I think the chevron background with the circle center is so cute!

While I am home from Florida, I am preparing for Pumpkinfest.  It is this coming Saturday!!!  That's soon and I've got a ton to do.  I'll be taking orders again on October 27.  Be getting those holiday lists ready!

Happily Ever After...

Jessica Alford is my daughter's third grade teacher.  We'd never met until she cam to Centertown this year.  I have to admit that Lauren was a little nervous about having a "new teacher", but Mrs. Alford has been so sweet to her.  She's won Lauren over!

Jessica has a really sweet little girl, Aubrey Lee.  She wanted something for her room in their new house.  She asked for chevron, pinks and purples, and this wonderful quote.  I added some rhinestones to the crown because it sounds like Aubrey is a typical girlie girl!!

I did this one as an experiment for one of my summer art classes.  I added some really special touches and think it turned out really pretty.   There's lots of shading on the castle and the sky is full of stars.  When you see it in person, it has a fine coating of glitter for added sparkle!

I added the wording with a little girl's room or playroom in mind, but how perfect would this be for a princess themed wedding or shower decoration?

Beautiful Wedding Quotes

Oh, this saying is just so sweet.  Nicole Austin ordered this for her upcoming wedding, and I love that she kept it a really simple black and white.

Nicole asked for no ribbon and tells me that they are going to be on easels for the wedding.  I'm sure it will be gorgeous.  Congratulations on your special day!!!

Sweet Baby Boy

Here's four really pieces designed for a rustic baby boy nursery.  I've got a picture somewhere of the bedding that was so cute.  It has the alphabet in the blue, yellow, brown and green along with some animals representing a few of the letters.  It's adorable!

I did this large 12x24 to hang over the crib.  I love the font!  Bethany Gregorich requested the burlap ribbon, too.

These two 5x5's feature the green that is on the trim of the big one and a couple of the animals from the quilt.  The burlap was too big so I used twine for these.

 

Finally, Bethany also wanted this quote.  I used more yellow on this one with the blue and green again for accents.  The lettering brings in the brown and the burlap ribbon ties it all together.

Baby Boys

New customer April Payne liked the birth announcement canvas design that I have available on etsy.  She wanted to make a few changes to make it perfect for her son's nursery.  She requested the light blue and sage green argyle on the top canvas and the stripes on the bottom canvas.

Instead of the name at the top, she wanted a fancy monogram - which I think turned out sooo pretty!  Since these are done in a little larger size (11x14 and 8x10) I was able to put the name on the bottom canvas like wanted as well.  I just love this one!

Believe it or not, this one is for a completely different nursery.  I just happened to have these two orders using exactly the same colors during the same week.  Isn't this just the sweetest quote for a nursery?

Teacher #1 - Michelle Lewis

Okay, so my first teacher is not technically a teacher.  She's a principal!  Mrs. Michelle is the brand new principal at West Elementary.  She wanted two canvases for each of her office doors.  She also wanted them to coordinate but be different.

She also mentioned that she likes dots and chevron.  I took that information, along with her color choices, and came up with these two designs.  The cream, red, and chocolate brown look really pretty together.  I think they'll definitely be noticed!

To make them even more different, I turned one vertically and the other horizontally and used different fonts.  Thank you so much, Michelle!  Good luck in your first year as principal!

Faithe

This promise from the parents to the child is one of the sweetest and most important things that I paint.  I am blessed enough to be able to paint it over and over again.  Children need all of these things, and they need to hear it.  What better way to remind them, and yourself, of the promises you make to them.

It's Hot!

It's hot!  It's full on summertime - haha!  Being a teacher, of course I love summer.  I do love going on vacation, going to the pool, and the kids' baseball season.  I do not love the heat.  I'm dealing.  The cool colors were so much fun to paint especially during this time of the year.

This 11x14 is one of my most popular quotes for a new baby.  It's just perfect for the nursery or any child's room.  This nursery was the golden yellow, lime green, and a darker aqua.  What a pretty combination!

You Just Can't Get Enough Dots!

Is there such a thing as too may polka dots?  I think not!  I painted this red, white, and blue 8x10 and it was snapped up as an end of the year teacher gift.  I really like the personalization that was added!  It's more for the teacher's team than just the individual teacher.

These dots were an etsy order that shipped out a while back.  I am just now getting around to posting some older orders!  The navy blue, lime green, and chocolate brown are so pretty together.

I love this quote and paint it quite often.  My favorite part is that the child's name is inserted in the last line.  So special.

More Weddings

I told you I'd been painting a lot for weddings lately!  I wasn't kidding...here's a few more!  Here's a really pretty set of wedding song lyrics.  This one is a little different because of it's square size and that it has the hand stamping all in the background.

This is a large 16x20 size.  I love the huge initial in the background with the couples' name over the top.  It's very simple and clean.  They gave me the ribbon to use on the top and to match the colors.

Here's a couple of the established canvases.  This one features some really pretty earth tones with just a hint of red.  I also like the swirls in the background.

This one is a little plainer, but still just as beautiful.  If features a truly earth tone palette with the cream, khaki, and chocolate brown all topped off with a chocolate satin ribbon.

I thought this was a great idea for a wedding...a thumbprint tree!  I left it unsealed so guests could put their thumbprints as the leaves when they signed in.  What a fabulous keepsake for the bride and groom!

Weddings

It's that time of the year...wedding season!  I paint lots and lots of established canvases, monograms, and the newer song lyric design right around this month.  They do make great gifts and decorations!  I love these two simple, classic B monograms that I did for my co-worker, Dana Grissom.  

  

Here's some pretty first dance song lyrics in the custom colors of teal and gray.

And another set of wedding song lyrics in teal and brown.  This one wanted the name and date added at the bottom.

This Bible verse was in the wedding vows and is just perfect on a canvas.  This one is also in teal and brown and has the name and date at the bottom.

Finally, one more set of wedding song lyrics, this time in the requested colors of purple and brown.  I'm so happy to be a tiny part of all of these couples' special days.  Congratulations to you all!

Dots and Toile

This online order came in for this beautiful quote to match a black, white, and baby pink nursery.  The back and white was used in toile and polka dots white the pink was an accent color.  I didn't get to see the whole room - only a blanket - but I can picture it as beautiful!

The plan was to also use it at the baby shower, but I did not get it ready in time.  Please let me stress how important it is that you let me know up front if you need something by a certain date.  While I do love to paint, it is not my whole life.  This is a very busy time of the year for us teachers!  I am also a wife and mother of two.  Plus, there may be several orders ahead of yours.  I want to be sure that I can give each piece of artwork the time and thought that it needs.  Thanks!
