Back To Reality...

We've been thoroughly enjoying our fall break!  It's so nice to have the week off with the kids.  We have gone to Perdido Key, Florida for the past few years and love it.  It's a really small town and there's nothing to do but go to the beach and relax.  Just what the doctor ordered!

I have a few paintings that I just haven't gotten around to sharing.  This one was shipped out a few weeks ago to one of my favorite customers!  I remember this song.  She asked for neutrals with a touch of crimson.  I think it turned out really pretty.

The masterpiece painting is the matching one to a sister piece that I did a long time ago.  I think it's sweet that little brother wanted one, too!
This zebra and hot pink print is a teacher canvas that went all the way to Texas!

This orange, white, and light blue canvas was ordered by a teacher friend for her niece's birthday.  She the ultimate Tennessee Vols fan!  I think the chevron background with the circle center is so cute!

While I am home from Florida, I am preparing for Pumpkinfest.  It is this coming Saturday!!!  That's soon and I've got a ton to do.  I'll be taking orders again on October 27.  Be getting those holiday lists ready!

The Pink Giraffe

Dana Evans ordered a surprise for her daughter's new room.  I would love to see Brooke's face when she gets her canvas!  Dana just told me that the room was going to be in shades of pink and green, and that Brooke loves giraffes.

I used a basic pattern for a giraffe shape that I had seen on an applique.  I added some girly touches and this sweet giraffe just came alive.  I love it!

Pink and Zebra

The pink and zebra trend lives on!  It seems like this has been such a popular color and print combination...and it just keeps going.  This 8x10 combines a pale pink with the zebra print, a super cute font, and some polka dot ribbon.  The perfect touch for any little girl's room!

The two 8x10's are a little different in that they feature the hot pink and the initial behind the last name.  You know this is going to get attention on the front door!

Aunts...

These aunt quotes have become very popular on etsy.  I try to keep one of the neutral toned ones in stock at all times.  It never seems to hang around for long!

Julie Thomas asked for one in the traditional neutrals but also one in black and hot pink.  I did the zebra in gray and the aunt in hot pink so the black lettering on top would show up.  She also asked for the hot pink ribbon.  It looks so cute all put together!

Zebra Love

I did lots of zebra print this past Christmas!  This sweet little 5x5 shipped out a while back.  I am a big fan of the name over the initial.  It looks so pretty inside the square!

Donna Campbell ordered this set of four assorted zebra prints for her four granddaughters.  She wanted something special just for the girls during their Christmas visit.  What a great idea!

Beth is the oldest granddaughter so I thought the name over the initial would look a little more grown up.  Since Mary Margaret's name is a long one, I decided to try it in a circle.  I love it!

Mary Grace's needed lime zebra print instead of the usual black.  I wasn't sure about that, but it turned out so cute!  Addy Jane's has the little dot border that I just love.  Thank you, Donna!  I hope the girls loved them!

I should add for ordering purposes that these are not 5x5's.  I didn't have enough of that size to fill the order and ran to Michael's to pick up some.  They only had 6x6's.  These are slightly larger than my usual small square size.

Aunts

I love this sweet aunt quote and it has become quite popular.  It sells in my etsy shop almost as soon as I relist it!   This is a good thing!  I usually keep a few of the white canvases with the cream zebra print already made up.  I didn't photograph each one that I've done over the past month or so, but here's one of them!

I did have a custom request for the quote done in a deep purple over a lavender hibiscus flower.  I don't think I've ever done a hibiscus, but was happy to give it a shot.  It shipped out to Idaho last week - just in time for the holidays!

I think it turned out really pretty!

Let It Snow!

All of this cold weather and frosty mornings have gotten me in the mood for some snow!  Here's some of my favorite snowmen!  I love these two classic 10x10 snowmen.  They look great all winter and never go out of style.  That's my favorite snow saying, too!  I took this pic before I added ribbon so picture them with a big green and blue satin bow on top!

This snowman is super cute with the pink accent.  Pink is so pretty with the blues and white for winter.  This also looks perfect for Valentine's Day!

The new fancy snowman design was new last year and was very popular in a lot of colors.  Here's the red version which goes so well with the little touch of zebra.

I love the lavender and green version...perfect for winter!

The snowman families are always popular and make a fabulous gift especially for newlyweds or families with new babies.

Here's another one..too cute!

The little 5x5 snowmen also make great gifts and are small enough to use as ornament on the tree!

Snowmen backgrounds don't have to be blue!  How about some hot pink?

Or some khaki?  The possibilities for your custom snowman are endless!

Weddings...

I've noticed that the last two weddings in the newspaper have been weddings that I've painted for.  I love it!

This one was for Ryan and Penny Crouch's beach wedding.  It was designed to hang over a basket for guests to drop their shoes in as they entered the beach.

The mother-of-the-groom is also one of my fellow teachers and good friends.  She sent me this picture of the finished product.  It turned out perfectly!

One of my very best customers, Joy Black, ordered this one as a wedding gift for the Hitchcocks.  She requested animal print but not the usual zebra.  She wanted leopard!

I don't do that very often so I had to do a little research!  She also asked for some sage green.  This is a 10x10 and will look so good on the front door.  Thank you, Joy!

Congrats to all you newlyweds!

New Teacher Design

I'm totally not ready to start thinking about back to school yet!  This one was actually painted a while back and am just now getting around to blogging about it.  The colors requested were red, black, and white.  Also, lots of polka dots!

I love the new apple design with the cute little worm!  The black and white dotted ribbon just tops it off perfectly!

On another teacher note, Kelley is getting married and wanted her new last name to hang in her classroom.  The hot pink and zebra is the theme I used in my room last year and the kids loved it!  I can't wait to show you all my new theme!!

Teachers, get your orders for the new school year in soon!

Appreciation Photos

Etsy has this cool feature that allows your customers to leave an appreciation photo.  This gives the artist an opportunity to see their work in action!  I love it!  Anytime I am really impressed with something I've purchased on etsy, I try to leave a photo or at least blog about that shop.
I've recently had two appreciation photos left for my etsy shop.  The first one was this quote ordered by Lyndsey for her maternity photo shoot.  I knew she needed by a certain date for this purpose and was so excited that she found the time to share the finished product.  This is a great idea and so cute!
I do have her permission to blog about it and share the photos with you all, too!  You can see the canvas when I first blogged about it here.

The second photo came from Heather who ordered this taupe and blue zebra print birth announcement canvas for her new son, Gavin.  I am always saying how great these canvases look in a wreath and here's proof!  I don't know where she got this wreath, but they go together perfectly!  Here's this canvas when I blogged about it earlier.

Whether you ordered from etsy, facebook, email, or Et Cetera, I would love to see your appreciation photos.  Your artwork in action helps others with their ideas and inspiration.  Plus, it just makes me happy!  Send them on in!

Only An Aunt...

...can give hugs like a mother, keep secrets like a sister, and share love like a friend.  I know I've done this one before and I did about three around Mother's Day.  This is also one of the most popular/most viewed canvases on etsy.  There are a lot of special aunts out there!

Both of these shipped directly to the aunts.  I was happy to include a small card.  Keep this service in mind when ordering gifts for those who live far away.

A Little Zebra

A little zebra goes a long way!  All of my featured canvases today have a zebra print border.  It's so popular right now and seems to go with just about nay color.  This 10x10 zebra with lime is super bright - and super cute!

Here's some zebra with hot pink for a set of sisters.  This combination had probably been the most popular.   These are 5x5's and perfect to hang just about anywhere.

I love the initial behind the name!

I've got a long weekend of baseball in my future!  It may be Monday afternoon before I make it back to the computer again.  The weather is supposed to be nice so maybe I'll get some sun.  You all enjoy your weekend, too!

For A Special Aunt

Aunts are so special to many of us. I absolutely love the quote Stephanie Vance chose for her Aunt Linda. I think this will make the perfect gift!

Stephanie asked for animal print in neutral shades. I chose to do the zebra in cream on white. It's there, but it's not there! She also wanted the quote over the word "aunt". I did that in two tones of brown. So pretty!

Zebra Cuties

Anita Nunley is getting a jump on her Christmas shopping! She ordered these two little zebra print cuties as gifts for some sweet girls in her life. I think these just make the perfect gift!

I love the lime and purple with the black and white animal print. This 5x5 size is just right for the door knob, bed post, or drawer pull. So cute!

Zebra Madness!

Zebra print is just crazy popular right now! Luckily for me, I enjoy painting this design. Zebra stripes don't have to be perfect or line up exactly. Their imperfections make them perfect! Two girls ordered this hot pink and zebra design at the Autumn Street Fair. Thank you, Chloe and Allison!

I had painted this 8x10 and it managed not to get snatched up. I actually sat it aside and found the time to personalize it for me! I kind of have a jungle print/themed classroom. This was just too perfect!

I bought a few Christmas gifts tonight. 'Tis the season! Please remember that the last day to place your holiday canvas orders is November 10. Thanks!
