Ringing in the New Year Right - Giveaway #7

I slept in a bit today. It is a snow day! It's worth the wait because the featured blogger today is Kandice Patrick at Diamonds and Dumptrucks. Fashion and design have always held a special place in Kandice’s heart. As a little girl, she remembers her grandmother sewing all of her curtains, patching holes and hand stitching. Kandice likes to think of her when creating and also uses some of her very own fabric. Her friend, Kim Cantrell, is a great seamstress and she was also her inspiration. Kandice hopes to continue her talent with her own daughter some day.

After looking to her grandmother and friend, Kandice made her own way into the world of sewing. She says, “I came home one night from Wal-Mart where I had picked up two quilted tablecloths and sewed them together to make a purse. It then came to pillowcase dresses, appliqués, and pants. When my niece was born in 2008 I became very interested in boutique clothing. I started creating for her and still today use bright and fun fabrics and essentials just like her personality. She is a fundamental part of everything that I do”. That is so sweet!
In 2010, Kandice will be bringing us a brand new spring collection and some small holiday collections. She is also hoping to get a Diamonds & Dumptrucks magazine put together and be able to send them via mail. (That’s a great idea! I am looking forward to seeing that!)

Now let’s get to know Kandice on a more personal note. She says that, “first and foremost I am a child of God, I give all my praises for my talent to him! I have been married for two years to a wonderful husband that I give all the glory to as well. He has had so much confidence in my business and been my biggest fan. He has helped me with so many things I've given up on and is always there to support me”. None of us could do what we do without that support. I love that her husband is her biggest fan!
The Patricks have two miniature yorkees, Sophie & Chloe, who they love more than two people should. They have been trying to start their family for about two years and can't wait to become parents. She says that she has been blessed to be a stay-at-home wife and fills her days with laundry and cleaning and gets to enjoy lots of me time. Girl, that will be all over when you get that family started!

Diamonds & Dumptrucks is made to fit & flatter sizes newborn - 6T. All custom items will be made using your specific measurements. All of Kandice’s items are meticulously pieced with quality materials and the utmost care. Your purchase will come pressed and packaged with woven Diamonds & Dumptrucks clothing labels and hang tags with care instructions. She does rush orders and will gladly send to giftees. She ensures a quality product and is positive you will enjoy shopping with her. Kandice says that she’s heard so many people say "I love having a job where I get paid to do what I love”, and for the longest she didn't believe them. She can say now that she totally relates. She loves every hour she puts into her creations. By far, she most enjoys hearing people say the gift recipients were pleased and loved their pieces.

Comment today to be entered to win a St. Patrick's Day outfit like the one pictured above. Kandice will make one specifically to meet your child's measurements. Look how cute that is, hairbows and all! I know my little girl would love that twirly skirt, too!
