Aunts

I love this sweet aunt quote and it has become quite popular.  It sells in my etsy shop almost as soon as I relist it!   This is a good thing!  I usually keep a few of the white canvases with the cream zebra print already made up.  I didn't photograph each one that I've done over the past month or so, but here's one of them!

I did have a custom request for the quote done in a deep purple over a lavender hibiscus flower.  I don't think I've ever done a hibiscus, but was happy to give it a shot.  It shipped out to Idaho last week - just in time for the holidays!

I think it turned out really pretty!  

Christmas Joy

I've had a lot of fun these past few weeks painting Christmas canvases.  I've really gone through the red and green paint!  This top one is a new design for Joy Black.  She asked stripes, dots, and a Santa.  I had to work for a while on getting all of those elements on there and it not looking too crowded or busy.  I am so happy with how it turned out!

This set of three 5x5 canvases was also for joy, but I painted it four separate times to fill identical orders!  There was a whoooole bunch of little Christmas squares all down my entry way!  These three were eventually connected with some cute gingham ribbon for hanging.

 

This beautiful 11x14 is an etsy order and shipped out last week.  I had done this one before with pink instead of red and the wording was "Happy Holidays".  That's the great thing about custom artwork...you always get what you want!

 

Here's a side of view of all of that pretty lettering and shading.  This 10x10 design that I call "Sugar Cookie" is below.  This one shipped out to Mary Feagley in Indiana.  This one features the maroon and hunter green with sage instead of the true red, kelly green, and lime.  So pretty!

I am no longer taking orders for Christmas delivery.  That deadline has passed!  I need a little time to finish up a few more holiday orders and then enjoy this special time myself.  However, I do offer gift certificates.  I know I love getting gift certificates and gift cards!  They are perfect for those people who are hard to buy for...they can order what they want!

Show Us Your Life - Holiday Traditions

I'm linking up with Kelly's Korner today to share some holiday traditions.  This sounds like fun and I can't wait to do a blog hopping and check out all of the great ideas!  Here we go...

1.  Our hometown has a Christmas parade and it has been about ten years since I have been.  Until this year!  My daughter was int he parade so we all went to support her.  It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun.  Our new holiday tradition is going to be watching the parade!

 

2. I have a huge family and it is our holiday tradition to meet at my grandmother's house on Christmas Eve for dinner and a gift exchange just for the kids.  There are too many of us adults to get everyone a gift!  Plus, it's all about the kids anyway!  My kids love getting to see their cousins!

3. We do an advent calendar every year.  When my son was little, he would wear us out asking, "How many days?"  We did the cotton balls on Santa's beard and it was wonderful!  He got a little bigger and we did the Lego and Playmobil versions which were also a lot of fun.  Now Lauren is kind of in charge of that and this year she chose a Little Pet Shop one.  They have bunches on Amazon!

4. Hanging the Christmas cards somewhere in our house is another favorite tradition.  I had the perfect entryway in our old house.  I am still trying to figure out the best way to display them this year.  I am thing of maybe clothes pinning them to a strip of burlap.  We love having the to look at on a daily basis.

For Emily...

My baby sister ordered three canvases to give as Christmas gifts this year.  They are perfect for those hard to buy for family members and they also ship to those who live out of town.  For the first one, she wanted something neutral but outdoorsy.  She also wanted me to use block letters.  I love how this one turned out!

The second one needed to be a C monogram.  All she could tell me for inspiration on this one was that they like the lake and fishing.  I chose to do the polka dots in earthy tones.  I think this would be really cute on a cabin door, don't you?

 

Finally, her third one needed to be fancy with the letter in black.  I did this very fancy M monogram on a dove gray background with a cloudy blue and gray swirly trim.  So elegant!

This one has a little different lettering in that it is more blended and kind of "sketchy".  I tried something new and loved how it turned out.  Hopefully this close up shows that this one has also been heavily distressed.

First of all, I absolutely adore this quote.  It is so sweet and perfect for any baby's nursery.

Second of all, this orange, lime, and aqua color combination is gorgeous!

Bright and Cheery

Look at all of these bright and cheery dots for the bathroom!  I just love all of these colors together!

The sunlight was streaming beautifully through my front door and it looked so pretty on the canvases.  

 I know this whole set will bring lots of joy to whatever room they are hanging in!
