The Mansfield Kiddos

We started our Halloween with trick-or-treating at church last Sunday night. Lauren is a fairy and Carter is Indiana Jones. They went trick-or-treating again on Wednesday night with my parents at their church. Friday is their parties at school.
It has been nice having all of the activities spread out, but I am wondering where do we have left to go on Halloween night? I am trying to talk them into staying home, carving a pumpkin, and actually being here to give out candy. We certainly do not need to take any more in!

Getting Ready for Thanksgiving

Kim Davis ordered this pretty "Give Thanks" pumpkin to finish out the fall season in her home. I think this one is so pretty!
With this post I am adding friends to my list of things for which I am thankful. I love Kim! She is so sweet and always smiling and upbeat. I know she is a wonderful teacher. We have had so many people call, comment, or just ask about Mike and Carter after their little accident. Everyone just says how thankful they are that no one was hurt. It is so nice to know that we have so many good friends who really care about our family.

Welcome Fall!

This sweet little 8x10 "Welcome Fall" canvas belongs to Danielle Sliger. She wanted something special for her office at school. I love the khaki background and the more modern looking pumpkins. It is clean and simple, but still lots of fun! I added a pretty pumpkin beaded handle, but it doesn't show up too well in my wreath!

Goodbye Soccer!

Our soccer season is officially over. We had a really good season, partly because we had good team and partly because we had awesome coaches. Matt Jackson and Lisa Mason did such a good job really teaching kids, but also making it fun. We finished 9 - 2 and Carter had some personal achievements with scoring. Maddie Cantrell was on our team. Isn't she cute?!

Close Call

Last night Mike and Carter were on their way home from the Vandy/Duke game and hit a deer just outside of Woodbury! Thankfully, they were okay. The airbags went off and they were shaken up a bit, but fine.
Our car is a different story. There is heavy damage to the hood, windshield, and just the entire front of the car. It was a scary experience. Lauren and I were shopping at Wal-Mart when we got the phone call. It just gives you chills! I am continuing my list of things I am thankful for by adding safe trips to and from all of the places we go.
Drive safely!

Do's and Don'ts

A quick guide to life by Candace Bushnell, creator of Sex and the City and author of the new book, One Fifth Avenue. I liked this so much that I tore this out of a magazine in the doctor's office the other day. I have got to get out and buy her new book!

DON'T criticize other women. It makes us all look bad.
DO throw out your five year plan and be open to the unexpected.
DON'T become obsessed with accessories. Become obsessed with knowledge. Accessories come and go, but knowledge lasts forever.
DO remember men are people.
DON'T change for them.
DO figure out what you love to do and do it. From there only good things will come.

Have a great weekend!

Health is like money, we never have a true idea of its value until we lose it.
~Josh Billings

As we head toward the Thanksgiving time of the year, I am especially aware of all that I am thankful for. Right now, good health is number one for me. I am having some tests run today for some truly minor health problems. It makes me think of those who have to deal with major health problems on a daily basis and the strength that takes.

Christmas Kitchen

Are you getting ready for Christmas yet? I definitely am not, but I am sure I will feel it coming on soon. These two sweet little 5x5's seem like they belong in the kitchen. I think it is the red gingham on the "Believe".
I decorate my kitchen with gingerbread men and candy for Christmas, so this one fits in there for me. It even has themed beading to match.
Both of these are available for immediate delivery. The "Believe" is $12 and the gingerbread is $15.

A New Trend

Lauren's new thing is to wear her pink goggles everywhere...I mean everywhere! I wonder if she is going to want to wear them to school on Monday.

Quality of Life

No matter how many times I do this quote, it never gets old. Moments that truly take your breath away are so few and far between.
Anne Vance ordered the 12x24 quote as a gift. She requested khaki and black in the "curlz" font.

Snowman Heaven

Snowman season has officially started! These two little cuties are available for $15.00 each. They have beautiful beaded handles with actual snowman beads. The "there's no day like a snow day" quote is perfect for teachers!

This "flakey" snowman belongs to Wesley Hillis. It features a rainbow scarf as well as multicolored ribbons. This one is 12x24 and costs $40.00.

Here are some more options for sizes on the snowmen. The square 10x10 snowman face went home with Kim Davis at the Autumn Street Fair. The 8x10 snowman is available for $25.00.
Custom colors, sizes, and names or quotes are always welcome!

Lorren's Gift

Sally Pack ordered this light blue, white, and chocolate canvas for her daughter to give as a birthday gift. She liked the dots and stripes on the "Hadley" canvas I did a while back and wanted something like that. I think this one is really pretty!

A Day At The Autumn Street Fair

Here are some shots of my booth, a special visitor, and the view from the back of my booth. The Joe Harvey Band rocked it this afternoon. I had a great time. Thanks for stopping by! Special thanks to Davy and Em for all of their help.
