Lauran Nichols

New customer, Lauran Nichols, sent me pictures of her beautiful home and wanted a family canvas made to match. She uses this celadon color that I absolutely love. I was thinking of painting my bedroom this peaceful color, and now I am sure! Lauran ordered two other canvases that I can't wait to share.

Back To School?

No, not yet! I love my job, but I am not quite ready to go back yet. I really haven't done anything this summer, but have still managed to be busy but relaxed at the same time. It's just nice to be home a little more.
Sonia Jennings is getting ready to start the school year right. She ordered this cute teacher canvas. She is a big UT fan and wanted me to be sure to put in some orange. I like this family of colors with the black accents. Isn't this the beast teacher name ever?

In honor of Independence Day, I am posting some past patriotic favorites.

Uncle Sam

I love the paisley in the red, white, and blue.

This is a special flag. If you look close you can see that the stars are baseballs and the stripes are bats.
That gives you a big hint as to what I have been doing this weekend...

I've never been a big sports lover. I didn't grow up on a sports family. I never seriously played any sports myself. But I do love watching my son play. He has a passion for sports (all sports!) that I don't really understand. When he plays, I'll be there.
(He's number 3 right there in the middle.)

For The MTSU Fan...

Sonia Jennings, a brand new customer in Murfreesboro, ordered a special wedding gift for a couple of Middle Tennessee State University fans. She wanted the school colors and she chose the font. She also requested "swirls".
You can't tell in the picture, but I added some shimmer to this one. I think it turned out really pretty. It would look great in your school colors, too!

Summer Wreath

New customer Chrystal Patton had a great idea! She has a door and a storm door and, like me, has trouble hanging a real wreath. It doesn't hang right on the storm door and gets squished in between the two. Her solution? A wreath on a canvas. She also had the thought to order one for each season. Now why didn't I think of that?
For now, she requested "something cute in bright summer colors". I did a polka dot wreath in aqua, hot pink, orange, and lime on an eye-catching yellow. My favorite part (other than the dots!) is the four strands of matching ribbon. So cute!

This is a little larger than the usual 10x10 square. It is a 16x16 and costs $35.00.

Thank you, Katherine Inskeep, for the experience of doing an I monogram. She wanted a classic, simple initial on a cream background with chocolate brown lettering, trim, and ribbon. It looks so good on my chocolate brown front door!

I went to the Manchester Goodwill Store yesterday, at the urging of my frugal friend Christie Allison, and found some good deals. Everyone loves a good deal!

I am a shoe person and was pleasantly surprised to find some rather nice shoes at amazing prices. I got these gorgeous, butter soft, metallic Cole Haan (yes, Cole Haan!) pumps for $9.99. The gold Chinese Laundry gladiator sandals with the pretty rhinestones were just $6.99. They remind me of one of my favorite quotes, "I was on my way to do something great and then I got distracted by something shiny".
