Angela Cargile ordered this family canvas for her home. She had been wanting one for a while and when she found this, she knew it was just perfect! It is really pretty. I would like to try it in other color combinations as well. Keep this in mind for newlyweds, anniversaries, and any special family!

My 7 random facts:
1. My favorite colors change, but right now they are yellow, pale aqua, and always white.
2. I like to get up in the morning on an even number. Even better, a multiple of six. For example, I usually get up a 6:18. If I lay in bed a while, I will get up a 6:24. If I stay in bed until 6:30...I am running late! Ponytail day!
3. Mike and I met when he was my little sister's teacher. I chaperoned one of her field trips while home from college. We've been together fourteen years now.
4. I have trips planned for my family starting June 18 all the way until October 2009. I love to travel and I love the trip planning process. I think I may be a travel agent someday!
5. I know flip flops are the thing, but I am not a big fan. I never really wore them until I came across a pair of Tevas that I fell in love with. I do wear them!
6. Lauren was almost named Reese and Carter was almost named Donovan.
7. I wish I could go blond for a day...just to see what it's like!

Lauren's Day

Carter enjoyed two days of sports camp this week, so Mike and I spent some time with Lauren. We called it "Lauren's Day" and went and did some fun things just for her. Every child needs quality time with their parents without their siblings. It felt like we were getting to know each other. It also reminded me of just how lucky I am to have such an intelligent, funny, and beautiful daughter.

There was this big beautiful tree with low branches right outside of the Scarrett-Bennett Center at Vanderbilt University. We were walking by on our way to one of our favorite restaurants, San Antonio Taco Co., and couldn't resist posing for a few picture in the shade.

After lunch, we fed the ducks and geese at Centennial Park. Lauren loved the playground, flower lined walking path, and especially the Sno-Cone stand!

A Much Needed Break

Please remember that I will be taking a much needed break from June 15 to July 15 for vacation, family time, and rest. I will be more than happy to take your orders during this time, but will not be filling any orders until after July 15th. All of my standing orders will be filled before the break as well.

Americana

What is more American than the flag and baseball? I did these two flags this week, just in time for Independence Day. The pretty paisley flag is for Brandi Murphy. I did a few of these last year and am happy to see them back again. Fourth of July festive, but not quite traditional. It reminds me of a Vera Bradley bag!


The bottom flag is for the Instructional Coordinator at Bobby Ray, Delia Walker. Delia was so helpful and supportive during my first year in the fifth grade that I wanted to make her a little thank you gift. Her family is a very athletic one! Instead of stars, those are tiny baseballs. There are also bats lined up along the red stripes.

Sex and the City Premiere

I went to the "Sex and the City" movie premiere Friday night with my mother and two sisters. We had such a good time! It was good female bonding time. That theater was packed women of all ages. You could feel the estrogen!
It really was a good movie with a truly satisfying but not quite storybook ending. It did the TV series proud. Carrie and the girls were hilarious and looked fabulous, of course!
I couldn't help but wonder, I'm a Carrie. Who are you?

'Till the Cows Come Home

LeAnn Nokes wanted a light blue background and "maybe a cow" for her front door. I thought it would be fun to play up the traditional black and white cow spotted pattern. I also added a little touch of red in the stripe and the polka dotted ribbon. This is the first one I've done like this, but I really like it!
